Yesterday was my business B I R T H D A Y!

Iā€™m proud of how far Iā€™ve come, and Iā€™m SO grateful to all the wonderful people whoā€™ve helped and supported me along the way!ā™„ļø

My journey so farā€¦

I learnt how to make jewellery as a teenager. I actually got my first lesson from a lovely lady who was selling her own handmade jewellery at a market in Dublin.

She saw my interest and not only gave me a lesson on the spot, but also gave me some supplies to take home! How amazing is that?!šŸ˜® I wish I knew who she was so I could thank her for her generosity!

Jewellery making became a hobby that I dipped in and out of. Apart from that first lesson, Iā€™m self-taught - mostly through experimenting and the odd book and YouTube video.

I consider my skills fairly basic though! šŸ˜… Iā€™ve attempted a few more complicated techniques over the years but as a perfectionist I often get discouraged and give up! šŸ˜¬

Anyway in May 2019, I decided to take a risk and turn my hobby into a business! It was totally a spur-of-the-moment decisionā€¦ but as soon as the idea popped into my head I got so excited, that I just had to do it!šŸ˜‹

I ordered some new supplies, designed my own logo, and just started creating.

I chose ā€˜Seodra Dreamsā€™ for my business name because ā€˜Seodraā€™ (pronounced show-drah) is the Irish word for jewellery, and I had so many design ideas floating around my head that I was practically dreaming of jewellery! Thus: Seodra (aka jewellery) Dreams! šŸ˜‰

I started off selling on Etsy, and then a few months later I discovered MarketStreet.ie and I started selling there too. I also sold my jewellery at a couple of craft markets in Dublin at the start of 2020. I had so much fun and was planning to sell at more when COVID-19 hit.

However despite what a tough year 2020 turned out to be, I saw my business grow through marketstreet.ie! So much so that I decided it was time I had my own website, which I finally opened 2 months ago! šŸ™Œ

I LOVE my business so much! Seodra Dreams is my dream job and I hope I get to keep doing it for many more years to come!šŸ¤ž
